January 22, 2010  - Join us for a presentation on values and resilience from community development and mental health consultant Darien Thira at the Frobisher Inn (Baffin Room) on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 8;30-9:30 a.m.

Thira serves as a community development/mental health consultant for many Aboriginal communities across Canada and offers workshops and consultations on communications, trauma and crisis-related fields.

Darien has previously served as a clinician with suicidal youth at Child and Youth Mental Health and as the Director of Community Education and Professional Development at the Vancouver Crisis Centre.

Darien’s doctoral dissertation related to Aboriginal suicide resilience and social activism and he is involved in further resilience research at the University of British Columbia. He has presented workshops at many local, national and international conferences.
