New facility under construction for Nunavut Research Institute in Rankin Inlet
September 2, 2010  - A new research support facility for the Nunavut Research Institute is almost complete in Rankin Inlet. The new building will support visiting researchers and provide them with lab space for their work, thanks to funding from the Government of Canada's Arctic Research Infrastructure Fund. See more

Drum Dancing opens Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition Conference
Participants at the Recognition of Prior Learning conference in Iqaluit were treated to a beautiful opening performance by well-known Iqaluit artist and performer Matthew Nuqingaq. The conference, which runs until January 21, is being held to share the lessons learned from the three-year Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition Project. Click here to watch this video .
Lighting the Qulliq
Iqaluit elder Martha Michael explains the significance and importance of the qulliq (a traditional stone lamp) to Inuit culture. Michael lit the qulliq to open the Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition conference in Iqaluit on January 19, 2010. Click here to watch this video .
