Admission Requirements:
Applicants wishing to apply to this program must:
- Accompany their application with three (3) letters of support from persons acquainted with their employment and/ or study skills.
- Have completed Grade 12 – preferably with credits in English, Mathematics, and General Science. Applicants lacking the above will be considered on the basis of prior learning and experience. They may also be required to complete standardized tests in English, Math and Science.
- Submit a hand written letter of intent outlining their interest in the environment, past work/study experience in environmentally related areas, their career goals and aspirations, and any other information that may be useful and relevant in assessing their compatibility with the program.
- Submit a current resume listing all relevant work experiences, education, and skills
- Be in good overall health
Record of Achievement:
Nunavut Arctic College Environmental Technology Diploma - 60 credits.
(Students completing first year studies may receive an Environmental Technology Certificate after successful complettion of 30 credits)
Student Funding and Financial Assistance:
Funding for this program is provided from a number of sources. Students may be eligible for Financial Assistance for Nunavut Students (FANS) through the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Education or through their Regional Inuit organizations.
Credit Transfer Opportunities:
Graduates of the Diploma program may receive 60 credits towards the BSC (Post Diploma Program) at Athabasca University. University of Lethbridge may admit up to 20 course (60 credit hours) Post-Diploma BSC (Environmental Science). Other transfer opportunities are in place. Transfer credits are evaluated on a student-by-student basis by the receiving institution.
