Kindness adds up: Nursing students thank Tittaq Office Products

The Nursing Program at Nunavut Arctic College has 18 students into the Pre-Nursing Program, which is in its third year. The Students take Math and Sciences - among other subjects, and some of the students have been in need of calculators for their Math and Chemistry.

The Nursing Program Manager contacted Trevor Penttila, Manager of Tittaq Office Products, with the idea of purchasing calculators for the students. Mr. Penttila was generous in donating 24 calculators to the Nursing Program for the students’ use.

Our appreciation to Trevor and his staff for this kind gesture toward the education of our students, who are aspiring to become nurses to serve Nunavummiut. Dr. Dora Carbonu, Program Manager, received the 24 calculators on behalf of the Students on Monday, October 05, 2015.

In the Pre-Nursing Program students develop time management and study skills and determine if they have the interest, aptitude and skills required to pursue a career in nursing. The Arctic Nursing Program, developed collaboratively between Nunavut Arctic College and Dalhousie University, is a four year program that focuses on nursing in Nunavut. The deadlines for applications is May 15, 2016. The deadline for FANS and ALTS applications is July 15.
