With the lighting of a qulliq, drum dancing and the traditional songs of Inuit elders, Nunavut’s Member of Parliament, the Hon. Leona Aglukkaq, paid a very special visit to Nunavut Arctic College in Arviat this week, announcing millions in federal and territorial infrastructure funding.

ARVIAT, Nunavut, September 23, 2009 — The Honourable Leona Aglukkaq, Minister of Health, on behalf of the Honourable Gary Goodyear, Minister of State (Science and Technology), along with the Honourable Daniel Shewchuk, Nunavut Minister of Environment, Minister of Human Resources and Minister responsible for the Nunavut Arctic College, today announced funding of more than $4.9 million for infrastructure investments at Nunavut Arctic College campuses and community learning centres.
