Nunavut Arctic College, an arm's length corporation of the Government of Nunavut, is tasked with a broad mandate: overseeing, developing and delivering adult education and training programs to meet the needs of Nunavummiut. Programming includes compensatory (upgrading and life skills), pre-employment, apprenticeship, certificate, diploma, university transfer, and university degree programs, using a wide range of delivery models, including on-campus programming, distance programming at 25 Community Learning Centres and via other off-campus facilities, as well as distance teaming using state-of-the-art technologies. The College also oversees the Piqqusilirivvik Inuit Cultural School and research services carried out through the Nunavut Research Institute.

 

The College is seeking a qualified Senior Academic Officer (SAO) to assume principal leadership accountability for the design, development and appropriate delivery of Pitsiaqsimaniqpaaq, the Achieving Academic Excellence goal of the Board of Governors. Working closely with a team of Deans and Directors, you will provide academic and administrative leadership to institutional planning, program development and delivery, registrar services, student support services, inter-institutional collaboration and research in alignment with the College’s mission and strategic goals.
