The Nunavut Arctic College application deadline is May 15, 2013 and the Financial Assistance for Nunavut Students deadline is July 15, 2013.


There was a sense of excitement and teamwork in the air as the Jewellery Students put finishing touches on their pieces for Saturday’s Christmas Tree Ornament Sale!

Members of the public flooded into the lobby of the Nunavut Arctic College main campus in order to purchase these handmade, creative Christmas Tree ornaments.

As with past sales, this year's event was complete in less than 20 minutes. 


Arviat Film Society youth spent the weekend filming and editing videos for Bullying Awareness Week. Learn how they explored the topic in this week's comic.


OTTAWA, October 17, 2012 – Participation in Global Dignity Day Canada more than doubled this year over last with 53 schools and almost 9,000 students nationally registering to participate online or in person. The video conference can be streamed online from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m. here:


OTTAWA, October 1, 2012 – Inuit student and Canadian Ranger Curtis Konek of Arviat, Nunavut has been named a national role model for Global Dignity Day Canada 2012.

Curtis joins the ranks of Conservative Senator Yonah Martin, NDP MP Niki Ashton, Liberal MP Justin Trudeau, TakingITGlobal Founder Jennifer Corriero and renowned Buddhist monk and scientist Mattieu Ricard, who are just a few of the national role models supporting the October 17, 2012 international day which focuses on empowering young people with dignity.


Building on the great success of last year, Canada’s Democracy Week 2012 will run from September 15–22. The week celebrates democracy and its positive impact on life in Canada. This year’s theme is discovery — it’s about learning something new about democracy and how elections work.

Canada’s Democracy Week is an Elections Canada civic education initiative built around the United Nations’ International Day of Democracy on September 15.

The College has such wonderful people working for it, across this great territory, in every community. I would like to personally thank each and every staff member for the dedication, time and effort they put into the enhancement of Adult learning in Nunavut.

Nunavut Arctic College has come a long way with the programs it delivers, and continues to advance. I would also like to express my appreciation to our excellent Board of Governors and the College’s Senior Management for their leadership and commitment throughout this academic year. .

The Board of Governors wishes to congratulate all those who graduated from the certificate and diploma programs in Management Studies, Environmental Technology, Social Work, Mental Health, Inuit Language and Culture, Midwifery, Trades, Fur Design and Production, Jewellery and Metalwork plus the degree programs in Arctic Nursing and Teacher Education.


Nunavut Premier and Minister of Education, the Hon. Eva Aariak congratulated the first graduates of the new Career Development Practitioner Certificate Program in the Legislative Assembly today.
