The Environmental Technology Program (ETP) is one of Nunavut Arctic College’s most popular diploma programs and is celebrating its 30th Anniversary during the 2017/2018 academic year. The mandate of the ETP is to develop environmental practitioners to meet the needs of private and public organizations that operate in Nunavut.

 

Under the supervision of the Senior Instructor, ETP, the Instructor will deliver instruction in both classroom and field settings.  The Instructor, ETP’s primary responsibilities are to 1) instruct program courses using a range of instructional styles following adult education principles, 2) evaluate student learning, 3) assist with the planning and management of program curriculum, equipment, spaces and partnerships, and 4) take the program lead on incorporating IQ principles and knowledge into the program’s curriculum and delivery.

 The Program Manager, Early Childhood Education Programs for Nunavut Arctic College will be responsible for designing, developing and managing the delivery of early childhood education programs held throughout the territory. Reporting to Director, Education Programs the incumbent will ensure efficacy of the Applied Certificate and Diploma program which includes workplace and fulltime classroom study components. The Manager will strive to expand early childhood education training and instruction to communities in all three regions of the territory. Widespread consultation will be required to ensure new curriculum includes current research and adapts to  best practices in Canada and involves Nunavut employers, adult learners and other stakeholders.. Coordinating and supervising funding agreements connected to the delivery of the ECE program is another main responsibility. The incumbent will directly supervise four full-time Early Childhood Education faculty and an Administrative Assistant.

Reporting to the Program Manager, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Programs, the incumbent will provide educational leadership and administration of the ECE Program. The Instructor, ECE Program is responsible for developing and delivering courses and providing curriculum expertise in early childhood development. The incumbent will ensure that course content is based on current research in the field of early childhood education. The position works as a member of the ECE team to schedule and deliver courses in the ECE diploma and Applied Certificate Programs. The Applied Certificate program is delivered in communities outside of Iqaluit, and the incumbent will be required to travel to those communities for course delivery.
